- Dr. Ray Gandhi completed Medical School and an Internal Medicine Residency at MS University, Baroda Medical College in Gujarat, India where he first developed an interest in Cardiology. This was followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Wayne State University Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. With an even stronger interest in Cardiology, he pursued a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the Henry Ford Heart and Vascular Institute. He is Board Certified in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He specializes in General Non-invasive, Interventional, and Nuclear Cardiology and treats patients with Carotid and Peripheral Vascular Disease. He often treats complex patients with Chronic Total Occlusions (CTOs) and has trained in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedures.
Dr. Gandhi started his practice in Orange County in 1999 and early on maintained leadership positions at Fountain Valley Hospital Regional Center and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, where he currently serves as Chair of the Department of Cardiology. Prior to serving as Chair of the Department of Cardiology at Hoag Hospital, Dr. Gandhi served as Vice-Chair and on Quality Committees with the Medical Staff. At Fountain Valley Hospital, he held the Chief of Cardiology position and served on the Peer Review Committee.
Dr. Gandhi is actively involved in teaching medical students and is a Clinical Assistant Professor with AZCOM, Midwestern University.
He is an avid hiker and loves wildlife. His other interests include digital health, photography, astronomy, golfing, and all things engineering.. He has 1 publication and 7 citings.
