- Dr. Rachel Welbel is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Rush University.
She received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She completed her residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia and Cornell and her fellowship at John Peter Smith Hospital/Texas Christian University. She specializes in sports medicine (non-surgical) and is experienced in stroke, concussion, electrodiagnostic testing, spinal cord injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders.
In 2021, she co-founded Advocate Christ Medical Center's Long Covid Clinic. She continues to be the principal investigator of a behavioral health outcomes study with the long covid population. She is also the recipient of the Advocate Aurora Health Christ Medical Center Physician Partner of the Year Award.
