Overview of Dr. Harrison
I'm a board certified cardiac surgeon at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital. I treat ischemic heart disease, structural heart conditions, valvular disease, rhythm disorders, and aortopathy. I am particularly interested in surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, and am uniquely skilled in complex lead extraction and management (related to pacemakers / defibrillators). My background in heart failure, transplant, ECMO (short term heart-lung machine) and LVAD (long term cardiac support device), and my experience treating very sick patients gives me a unique perspective and skill set to manage complex heart disease.
