- Dr. Punyadech Photangtham is currently affiliated with St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, Center for Comprehensive Care. In his current position as Consulting Physician, he provides direct primary care to those clients afflicted with HIV and general primary care needs. In addition he serves on the Revenue Enhancement Committee, focusing efforts on improving documentation, and coding to increase medical claim reimbursement.
After graduating with a medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Practice. He served as co-chief resident during his final year of residency. As a recipient of the National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Award, he served at Betances Health Center as the senior family physician and HIV specialist for 7 years. From July of 2005 – December 2011, prior to his current position at St Luke’s Roosevelt, Center for Comprehensive Care, he served as the HIV Medical Director for Greenwich House Primary Care Initiative Program in New York City, Dr. Photangtham provided primary care to underserved populations living with HIV, chronic hepatitis B, and/or chronic hepatitis C, as well as those with substance abuse issues and mental illness.
In July 2007, he started a private primary care practice, Pride Medical PLLC, in the Washington Heights area of New York City. He also started a new private practice called Smart Health Medical, PC in Elmhurst, Queens, in October 2010 providing primary care for general population
