Summary
- Dr. Schrank earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995 after earning two B.S. degrees in Engineering Science and Psychobiology from the University of Miami. He received his orthopedic residency training at the Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was named administrative chief resident. His post-graduate training included a fellowship in sports medicine at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles serving as assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Angels, and the USC Trojan football team. He received the outstanding clinical research award while at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons in both Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Dr. Schrank served as the President of the Medical Staff and Chairman of the Medical Board at St. Charles Hospital from 2010-2012.
Dr. Schrank specializes in the treatment of shoulder and sports medicine injuries. He has extensive experience in both arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder surgeries. He currently performs a comprehensive array of surgical options for rotator cuff injuries including all-arthroscopic patch augmentation grafting and reverse total shoulder replacement for massive rotator cuff tears. In performing thousands of shoulder surgeries he routinely applies state of the art surgical and rehabilitative techniques returning patients back to work, sports, and life as quickly as possible. His other clinical interests include the operative and nonoperative management of elbow injuries. He also was a co-founder of St. Charles Hospital’s ThinkSMART!TM Concussion Management Program.
