Summary

  • I am Director of The Turek Clinic (www.TheTurekClinic.com), men’s health clinics in Beverly Hills, San Francisco and Silicon Valley. I am a former Professor of Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California San Francisco and held the Academy of Medical Educators Endowed Chair in Urology. I am an active clinician and speak internationally on men’s health issues.

I attended Yale College and Stanford University Medical School. Following a urology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, I was fellowship trained at Baylor College of Medicine. My published research focuses on germ and stem cell genetics and epidemiologic studies of men’s sexual and reproductive health problems. I am a proud co-founder of Banking on the Future, a national initiative to fund sperm banking for adolescents with cancer. I consult with the CDC and NIH and am an Advisory Board member of the Men’s Health Care Network, Fertile Hope, Future Family and other biotech and fintech companies. I am Editor of the Reproductive Volume of Netter’s Images, published in 2012. I have an active blog at www.TurekonMensHealth.com and am a syndicated writer for WebMD.

I have been President of the Society of Male Reproduction and Urology, The American Society of Andrology and The Northern California Urology Society and am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Société Internationale d'Urologie and the Royal Society of Medicine (London). Several years ago, I helped to found a free volunteer medical clinic powered by retired physicians for the working uninsured (www.ClinicByTheBay.org). My hobbies include vintage cars and longboard surfing.
