- Dr. Stumpf has earned a national reputation in women’s healthcare, patient safety and medical education. A subspecialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI), he has published some 60 research papers and scientific articles focused on menopause, patient safety, novel delivery systems for medications, medical education, and infectious diseases in OB/GYN.
Dr. Stumpf is a consummate teacher with over 16 years of experience as a residency program director, and several teaching awards from the national level Council on Resident Education in OBGYN. He has been chair of a number of national committees of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology including patient safety and quality improvement, and continuing medical education, and was chair of New Jersey Section of ACOG.
Dr Stumpf is a graduate of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Fordham University, State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn (MD cum laude), and OBGYN Residency and REI Fellowship at University of Southern California at LA County Medical Center. He has been chief of REI at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, OBGYN program director at Jersey Shore University Med Center, and clinical professor of OBGYN at the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Med School. After private practice at Shore Institute for In Vitro Fertilization and Reproductive Medicine, he joined the faculty at Newark Beth Israel Med Center where he was named vice-chair of OBGYN. In 2007, Dr. Stumpf was appointed professor and chair of OBGYN at University of Nevada School of Medicine where he was also director of medical student clerkship in women’s healthcare and director of the OB/GYN residency program. In 2009, he attended the Executive Development Seminar for Associate Deans and Department Chairs, sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges and Harvard Medical School, designed to enhance organizational, financial, educational and interpersonal skills for leaders in academic medicin
