  • Paul W. Ladenson, M.D., is the John Eager Howard Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Professor of Medicine, Pathology, Oncology, Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he is also University Distinguished Professor.
    Dr. Ladenson was raised in Missouri and educated at Dartmouth College, Oxford University, and Harvard Medical School before training in Internal Medicine, and in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
    Dr. Ladenson is currently chair of the ABIM Specialty Board Examination Committee for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He has previously served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and president of the American Thyroid Association.
    Dr. Ladenson’s principal research interests have been diagnosis and management of thyroid cancer, thyroid hormone actions on the heart, and thyroid hormone analogs. He is the author of more than 250 publications.
