Summary

  • I have a diverse background in Mental Health beginning in 1981 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. My first experience was working in a 150-bed private locked facility caring for severe and persistently mentally ill clients. In 1984, I received my registered nurse license and started working at one of Los Angeles County hospitals, Olive View Medical Center, providing mental health care to adults and teens in the in-patient setting and Psychiatric Emergency Room for 6 years. January 1991, I moved back to my childhood home in Southern Oregon and went to work for Jackson County Mental Health (JCMH) out-patient clinic, as well as on-call at Rogue Valley Medical Center – Behavioral Health Unit. JCMH provided me a wealth of experience working with adults, teens and children with a variety of mental health diagnoses; personality disordered individuals with 2 yrs of weekly intensive training in DBT therapy; training in grief and loss counseling through WinterSpring Counseling Ctr; Methadone clinic/Sobering unit; PASRR evaluations for the elderly in the nursing home setting; as well as consulting nurse for Developmentally Delayed group home clients.

In March of 2006, I graduated from OHSU with board certification through American Nurses Association Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan). I have been trained to provide Primary Mental Health care to individuals and families from early childhood to older adults (8-65 years old). My primary focus is to provide medication management services; I may also provide brief supportive / solution focused and cognitive behavior therapy in some cases.

My goal is to provide a collaborative partnership with my clients and their families in order to help individuals make informed positive choices for themselves using an evidence-based approach. My practice is referral based. If you'd like to be seen for an evaluation, please have a referral faxed over to my office @ 541-770-5070.
