- Dr. Johnson is a physician with over 25 years of experience in clinical medicine including family medicine, preventive medicine, urgent care, occupational medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology. She sees both adults and children in her practice and treats chronic and acute illnesses. She treats depression, skin disorders, hypertension, diabetes, asthma and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Johnson has a special interest in Women's Health treating menopause, PMS, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, pelvic pain and infertility problems.
Dr. Johnson grew up in up-state New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York followed by her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Duke University Medical Center. After a decade of practicing obstetrics and gynecology as a faculty member at Duke and in private practice, she switched gears focusing on general preventive medicine. She completed her Preventive Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor along with a Masters of Public Health.
When not working, Dr. Johnson enjoys long-distance bicycle riding with her husband, Val, spending time with her two daughters, Kelsey and Emily, gardening, and being an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brazos Valley (UUVBV) and the TAMU Women’s Club.
Dr. Johnson is certified in preventive medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
