- Dr. Omar Young is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Young completed his undergraduate
studies at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating Magna Cum laude and double majoring in Biology and French language/literature. He completed medical school at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at
Yale New-Haven Hospital before completing his Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh/Magee-Womens Hospital. It was during fellowship where he developed a strong interest in and has published work on operative vaginal delivery, infectious diseases in pregnancy, and medical education/curriculum design. He has won numerous research and teaching awards A strong proponent for the use of social medial for advocacy in medicine, Dr. Young uses his Twitter page (@DocOhms) to bring awareness to the issues of maternal mortality in the United States and other pregnancy-related issues. He currently serves on the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) Communications Committee. Outside of work, Dr. Young enjoys watching tennis, traveling and singing.
