  • Dr. Omar Shoukfeh is a Board Ceetofied Ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and glaucoma and was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas.

Dr. Shoukfeh completed his undergraduate training at Texas Tech University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Cell & Molecular Biology. At Texas Tech he was accepted to be a member of the Mortar Board, an award to the top 50 seniors campus-wide based on leadership, scholarship, and service. He subsequently obtained his medical degree at Texas Tech University. Dr. Shoukfeh completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where he earned some of the highest board preparation scores in the country. He served as chief resident during his third year. He then obtained a glaucoma fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas where his surgical experience was near the top in the country. He is Lubbock’s only glaucoma fellowship trained doctor in the class of new and exciting minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), which he is very passionate about. He is also in a very small minority of Ophthalmologists in the nation that can provide the full spectrum of minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries to their patients.

On a personal note, Dr. Shoukfeh loves spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, and playing basketball. Dr. Shoukfeh believes it is an honor to take care of those people that he knows and grew up along with in the West Texas area, and does not take that responsibility lightly.
