  • Dr. Olga Leibu's medical education started at The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo, where she earned her MD. She then completed an Internship in Family Medicine at Overlook Medical Center, followed by her Residency in General Adult Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Health System, Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Leibu went on to complete her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training at the New York Presbyterian Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell Universities, while also completing training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.

    Dr. Leibu is a Diplomate of the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Child and Adolescent and Adult Divisions. She is a recipient of multiple leadership and research awards, including the American Psychiatric Association Resident Research Award, the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Research Award, the New York Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Travel Grant, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Legislative Grant.

    Dr. Leibu also sits on the board of The New York Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry contributing to the Communications Psychiatry committee as Co-Chair. In the past, she also contributed to the Member- In-Training and International committees. Dr. Leibu's advocacy for physician well-being through leadership roles with Graduate Medical Education committees during Residency and Fellowship, and by working as staff psychiatrist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Student and Trainee Mental Health Service have translated to her clinical work with patient advocacy and emphasis on patient well-being.

    Currently, Dr. Leibu is in private practice where she provides clinical care to patients along with maintaining an Assistant Clinical Professorship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she remains in a teaching role.
