Summary
- Dr. Han received his MD degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and continued his residency at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He completed a fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Cyclotron Laboratory, followed by postdoctoral training and certification in gamma knife radiosurgery at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, and functional radiosurgery for neurologic and movement disorders at the University of La Timone in Marseille, France. In addition, he served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Major, and worked as the Deputy Director for Radiation Oncology Service at the Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr. Han was a National Cancer Institute Scholar at the Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry at NIH, where his research focused on the study of small molecule antimetabolites. He currently holds the position of Medical Officer in the Office of New Drug, and Division of Imaging and Radiation Medicine (DIRM) at the Food and Drug Administration.
In his capacity as a medical officer, he is responsible (clinical reviews) for evaluating submissions to FDA involving radiopharmaceuticals, theranostics, optical imaging agents, and medical countermeasures (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) across different stages of development, ranging from proof of concept and first in human trials to pre-IND, IND, NDA, post-marketing, and emergency use authorization. He also provide expert FDA intercenter advice and consult for combined immune checkpoint inhibitors, monoclonal antibodies, small molecules, cytokines, vaccines or car T cell therapy and external beam radiation therapy.
He has been invited speaker at SNMMI, ASTRO, RTOG, and NCI. He also has publications related to small molecule antimetabolite, radiopharmaceutical, and medical counter measure agents. He has authored chapters on Radiation Oncology book.
