Summary
- I'm a clinical electrophysiologist at UVA and am excited about the biomedical engineering and medicine symbiosis.
One of my strongest passions outside clinical care is development of new medical devices. As a collaborator in 3 previous patents, and device technologies, I am also interested to pursue innovations to develop medical technologies safer and more effective.
I am passionate about clinical and translational research with a particular emphasis on gender/racial/ethnic differences in arrhythmias. We have started a community movement to reduce cardiovascular disparities in minority populations - FBI (Faith Based Initiatives ) 4 Health aims to approach populations in faith based settings to initiate conversations on cardiovascular health and promote well being. As an interest, I enjoy writing with a special focus on medical writing. I have previously served on editorial boards for medical newsletters, and have published a book on my internship experiences.
My long term vision is to set up medical missions in resource limited settings to advance cardiovascular care. As part of that, I would work towards a dual affiliation with India and the US, and to facilitate bidirectional transfer and wide availability of medical advances.
