Summary

  • As a trained and Board certified in General Surgery and General Medicine, there was a comfort level practicing competently & safely, a wide range of medicine and office surgery. After basic medical training at St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India, entered accredited surgical training within the National Health Service Hospitals in England, United Kingdom. This was achieved after licensing exams held by the General Medical Council’s Professional and Linguistics Assessment Board. After six years in General and Specialty Surgical rotations and achieved fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1987. After a eighteen month second surgical residency in the Bronx NY, NY, decided to retrain in Medicine and graduated from that program at Creighton University Medical Center in 1991 and was initially Board Certified in 1992 and re-certified several times. Remained on the contributory staff at Creighton University for six years until 1997 and entered into private practice in that year and started a fulfilling and satisfying solo practice in 2000 which I ended in May 2018 due to ever increasing challenges in medical rules and regulations besides staffing issues. Now working as a staff physician at the Nebraska and Western Iowa Veterans Affairs Healthcare Systems, in Omaha, Nebraska effective 2018 and enjoy serving the medical needs of veterans of USA military. Having grown up in Indian Naval bases I have some degree of understanding of needs of the veterans I serve.
