She received her AB from Harvard College and her MD from Vanderbilt Medical School before completing her General Surgery Training at NYU followed by a fellowship in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery at the University of Colorado and Denver Health Medical Center. She has over 20 peer-reviewed publications and her academic interests include surgical education, global health, and outcomes of trauma patients and those who undergo emergency general surgery.
