Summary

  • A native of Scranton PA, Nicholas J. Serniak, MD graduated with his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Scranton in 2011 and earned his medical degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM), formerly known as The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) in May 2015.

    While receiving his medical education, he was honored as an inductee in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society.

    He began his general surgical training at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA until its closure in 2019 at which point he completed his surgical residency at the University of California, Irvine in Southern California. He completed his fellowship training in Colon & Rectal Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC). He is currently board certified in both General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery.

    He is proud to have relocated back to the Northeast to continue his career as a staff Colorectal Surgeon at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA. He sees patients in Sayre, PA and Ithaca, NY.
