- Nicholas M. Fort, M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Fort treats injuries and conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. He has additional expertise in complex traumatic reconstruction of the upper extremity and treatment of peripheral nerve injuries. He is dedicated to providing individualized care for his patients.
Dr. Fort is a 4th generation South Floridian and cares deeply for the needs of his community and patients he serves. He was born and raised in Miami, Florida and attended Ransom Everglades High School in Coconut Grove, Florida. He subsequently received his undergraduate degree at Brown University, where he was a varsity water polo player and academic All-American. He completed his medical education at the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University where he was awarded the T. Campbell Thompson Prize for Excellence in Orthopedic Surgery. He then completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Miami / Jackson Health System, followed by a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Dr. Fort a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).
In his free time Dr. Fort enjoys golf, tennis, and spending time on the water with his family; he is an avid fisherman and diver.
