  • Nicholas B. Conway is a third-year medical student FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM). He graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2017. He currently serves as the Class of 2023 AAMC Organizational Student Representative (OSR) and an Editor-in-Chief for the Florida Medical Student Research Journal (FMSRJ). In his OSR role, he sits on the AAMC OSR National Community and Diversity Committee and the Southern Region Executive Board. While at FIU HWCOM, Nicholas has become actively involved as a student leader and advocate. He is a current Peer Tutor, Medical Student Ambassador, MedLEAD Mentor and member of the inaugural Academic Medicine Pipeline Program cohort. Former appointments include: Junior Editor for the FMSRJ, External President for HWCOM’s American Medical Association (AMA)/Florida Medical Association chapter, AMA Medical Student Outreach Leader and held a seat on HWCOM’s Medical Student Council. His current projects include analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on medical students, curricular interventions to address cultural humility in medical education and innovated teaching pedagogies. Prior to matriculation into medical school, he served the lead teaching assistant for 15 upper-division science courses at UCF. In this role he personally taught thousands of students in the laboratory setting and was invited as guest lecturer in multiple didactic courses.
