Kopyt, DO, FASN, FACP, CPI (Certified Physician Investigator, Association for Clinical Research Professionals) is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Morsani College of Medicine, Allentown, Pennsylvania, Chief of Nephrology at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Medical Director and Director of Research of the Northeast Clinical Research Center, Allentown, Pennsylvania. He received his medical training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia and his postdoctoral training in nephrology and internal medicine at Temple University Hospital. Following his postdoctoral training, Dr. Kopyt held teaching positions at the Morsani College of Medicine, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Kopyt is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians. He is a diplomat of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine with certification in internal medicine and nephrology. He is also a certified hypertension specialist (American Society of Hypertension). He has participated in multiple clinical research studies as a principal Investigator regarding therapeutics in Chronic Kidney Disease, End Stage Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Anemia of Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Secondary Hyperparathyroidism, Glomerulonephritis and Acute Kidney Injury.
