Summary

• Dr. Schoen earned his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis, then his MD and MPH degrees from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he is a succeeding Chief Resident in General Surgery at the UM Hospitals and Clinics. He received the U.S. Navy HPSP scholarship and is currently commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserves Medical Corps. In medical school, he dedicated extensive time researching the public health burden of gun violence and has been published in multiple surgical subspecialties. In his free time he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and cats, helping out at his family's nearby distillery, and competing in triathlons.
