- Dr. Nathan Dean, MD, is an experienced Pulmonologist based in Murray, UT, with a subspecialty in Critical Care Medicine. Graduating from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1977, Dean later served fellowships in both Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California San Francisco. Currently serving as a Professor (Clinical) of Internal Medicine at Intermountain Health and the University of Utah School of Medicine, his clinical focus is on bronchiectasis, chronic lung infections such as non-tuberculous mycobacteria, and recurrent pneumonia. Dean also makes significant contributions to medical literature with numerous publications focusing on Community-acquired pneumonia. . In 1996, the American College of Physicians acknowledged Dean's work and conferred him the title of Fellow (FACP). He currently is the Principal Investigator on 2 AHRQ grants towards development, deployment, and validation of electronic clinical decision support for patients with pneumonia.
