Summary
- I currently serve as the Chief of Anesthesiology at Phoenix Children's Hospital. My clinical research has focused on airway management and patient safety in children. I completed my anesthesiology residency at the Cleveland Clinic in 2005 and subsequently did my fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital (now Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago).
My clinical research has focused on airway and patient safety in children. I have designed and conducted several randomized trials. I have lectured nationally and internationally on the topic of airway management in children. Currently, I speak on Difficult Airway Management (Refresher Course lecture) and run the pediatric airway workshop for the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) annual meeting and am faculty for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA) pediatric airway workshop, and will be running the Society for Airway Management Meeting (SAM) in 2018.
I have an interest in anesthesia staffing models and clinical operations, and I have completed an MBA in healthcare management.
I am an editor American Board of Anesthesiologists written exam and an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiologists. I serve on the Editorial Boards of Pediatric Anesthesia, Anesthesia & Analgesia, Journal of Anesthesia, and Journal of Clinical Anesthesia. I am also I am a peer reviewer for airway management manuscripts for Pediatric Anesthesia, Anesthesia & Analgesia, British Journal of Anaesthesia, Journal of Clinical Anesthesia, and BMC Anesthesiology.
