    Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon and heart valve specialist with expertise in mitral, aortic, and tricuspid valve repair surgery, minimally-invasive and robotic-assisted heart surgery, and transcatheter structural heart interventions (TAVR, TMVR, TTVR, TEER). He is an international contributor and thought leader in the management of mitral valve repair surgery, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, transcatheter therapies, and quality improvement.

    His research focuses on heart valve disease, less-invasive treatment options for heart disease, enhanced recovery after procedures, transcatheter technology, imaging fusion/AR, and healthcare quality.

    Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos has been actively involved in device trials that have led to the approval of devices for the treatment of aortic, mitral and tricuspid valve pathologies.

    He is a sought-after faculty at international meetings, and widely published in the peer-reviewed literature including publications in prestigious journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA and JACC. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his research or teaching efforts.

    Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos holds multiple leadership positions within STS, EACTS, and ACC with a passion and vision to improve healthcare delivery through quality improvement initiatives, policy work, and executive management.
