Summary
- I am a board certified gastroenterologist with specialized training in advanced endoscopy and third space endoscopy. I completed gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy training at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. I learnt third space endoscopy skills under the tutelage of several international experts from Japan, China and United States under the auspices of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
My special interests are the diseases of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, bile duct and colon. I have performed over 5000 advanced endoscopic procedures as of 2020 including, but not limited to endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), zenker's diverticulotomy and per oral pyloromyotomy (POP).
I am part of a large multi-specialty group employed by Advocate-Aurora healthcare. My primary place of practice is Kenosha, WI. There are two highlights of my current practice:
1. Multi-disciplinary swallow and reflux center that includes surgeons, gastroenterologists, weight loss specialists and dieticians. We meet on a weekly basis to discuss all the patients referred to us with swallow and reflux problems and come up with a personalized plan of management. This is perhaps the most comprehensive center in the region with procedures ranging from robotic hiatal hernia surgery, transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF), LINX, POEM, POP, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), ESD, radio frequency ablation (RFA with BARRX).
2. Third space endoscopy center under which we perform ESD for complex colon polyps, early cancers and subepithelial lesions of the GI tract, POEM for spastic esophageal disorders like achalasia, POP for gastroparesis. As of 2020, we have performed more than 125 procedures with excellent outcomes and very satisfied patients.
