- Dr Azeem Latib is the Section Head and Director of Interventional Cardiology and Director of Structural Heart Interventions at Montefiore Medical Center in New York and has been in practice 26 years. He started his career in South Africa and obtained his specialization in internal medicine and cardiology at Groote Schuur Hospital in the University of Cape Town. Thereafter, he trained in interventional cardiology at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, where he worked with Antonio Colombo as a senior interventional cardiologist at San Raffaele Hospital and EMO-GVM Centro Cuore Columbus He has published over 700 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and numerous book chapters. His interests and experience lie in complex coronary interventions, structural heart disease and new device innovation. He is the principal investigator in numerous First-in-Human, Early Feasibility Studies, CE-mark, FDA-approved IDE and international multi-centre studies both in coronary and structural interventions. Dr Latib is a leading expert in complex coronary interventions as well as transcatheter aortic, mitral and tricuspid interventions.
Dr. Latib specializes in adult congenital heart disease, interventional cardiology, and peripheral endovascular interventional cardiology.
