Summary

• Mitchell Cohen MD FACC FHRS is the current Co-Director of the Heart Center and Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Inova LJ Murphy Children's Hospital.
  
  Dr Cohen's interests include the management of cardiac arrhythmias including WPW and other causes of SVT in children and adolescents. He performs electrophysiology studies and ablation procedures as well as pacemaker and ICD implantation and follow-up. Dr Cohen specializes in adult congenital heart disease. Dr Cohen has performed more than 4,000 pediatric electrophysiology studies and ablations.
  
  He has been actively involved for more than 25 years in the awareness and prevention of sudden cardiac death in children related to hereditary arrhythmias such as Long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, CPVT, and ARVD.
  
  Dr. Cohen works jointly at the Inova Heart & Vascular Institute with genetic counselors and basic scientists and is actively involved in using personalized genomes to best treat individual patients and their families.
  
  Dr. Cohen is a Past-President of the Pediatric & Congenital Electrophysiology Society (PACES) and local scientific advisor to SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes Foundation. He is the current Scientific Program Chair for the 2023 World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.
  
  Dr. Cohen has been a co-author on 5 national and international guidelines on the following topics: Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, adult congenital heart disease, and syncope. He has published more than100 papers and is the Associate Editor of two prominent pediatric cardiology journals.
