Summary
- I am an emergency medicine physician and a professional humanitarian. I have over 15 years of experience in international emergency medicine, public health and humanitarian response. I completed a 2-year fellowship in International Emergency and Public Health at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. My degree at the Harvard School of Public Health had a concentration in field studies and global health. I went on to work for Oxfam America (OA) – one of the global leaders in poverty reduction, development and humanitarian response. As their public health specialist in humanitarian response I oversaw the humanitarian public health programs in seven regional offices. I concurrently held a position as a visiting scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health and as a Fellow at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI), where I was the liaison and lead of the inter-institutional collaboration between HHI and OA.
I spent the last 4 years as Deputy Director of Global Disaster Response Team at Massachusetts General Hospital. I was pivotal in building the program including managing the team on deployments, building training and teaching programs, mentorship, and working on a international level with partners in the field.
This year I began a mid-career masters in public administration at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government with an anticipated graduation date of May 2018. I am currently affiliate faculty at the Harvard Humanitarain Intiative and continue to teach and mentor.
My areas of expertise include program development and implementation, team management, humanitarin reposnse in low resource settings, creative problem solving, and learning and evaluation.
