- I Retired from the Practice of General Surgery on 30 June 2016 after 40 years. I did 2 years on the faculty at Meharry Medical College, 25 years Private Practice in Raleigh, NC, and 13 years in Civil Service working for the US Army and Air Force. Notably in Raleigh I treated 5 stab wound to the heart and 3 of them lived. In Civil Service I was at The US Military Academy in West Point, NY for 2 years, Ft Benning, GA for 2 years, Yokota Air Base in Tokyo for 4 years and Ft Eustis in Newport News, VA for 5 years.
