- Dr. Miguel Reyes Mugica is a Pediatric Pathologist in Miami, FL, serving as Director of Pediatric and Perinatal Pathology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM), and has been in practice 38 years. He also speaks multiple languages, including Portuguese and Spanish. He served as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal "Pediatric and Developmental Pathology" for 15 years (2001-2016). He has been President of the Society for Pediatric Pathology (SPP) in 2017, and the International Paediatric Pathology Association (IPPA) from 2019 to 2020. In 2020, he was appointed Expert Editor for the new WHO Volume on Classification of Paediatric Tumours. In 2023, he was appointed Standing Member of the WHO Blue Books series on Classification of Tumors. At the clinical front, he studies a wide spectrum of pediatric diseases, including neoplasias, malformations, metabolic disease and pediatric transplant pathology. He is also studies pediatric testicular pathology, including Differences in Sex Development, for which he receives numerous consultations from around the world. He is the Series Champion for Paediatric Cancers at the International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR- https://www.iccr-cancer.org).
