- Michele R. D’Apuzzo, M.D. is a Professor of Clinical Orthopedics and the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Program Director in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Miami in Miami, FL. Dr. D’Apuzzo completed his adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He completed his internship in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN and his residency at both Mayo Clinic and the University of Virginia. In addition, he completed a research fellowship at the Motion Analysis Laboratory at Mayo Clinic. He has been the recipient of the Knee Society John Insall award (2014), Hospital for Special Surgery Clinical Excellence Award (2014) and the Jorge Galante Joint Replacement OREF Grant (2022). He has authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications and over 100 presentations at regional and national meetings. Dr. D’Apuzzo is the current president of the Miami Orthopedic Society and is a Board member of the Florida Orthopaedic Society and American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a member in different Committees at the American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS).
