Summary
- I am an internist who has specialized in HIV Medicine for 30 years. Since 2013, I have been the Chief Medical Officer for AIDS Healthcare Foundation. AHF is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization with a budget of $1.2 billion (in 2017). AHF is the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the world. Currently, it provides care (regardless of the ability to pay) to almost 850,000 HIV/AIDS patients located in the US and 44 other countries.
As CMO, I have administrative and financial responsibility for the Department of Medicine (domestic) and its associated programs. Those programs include outpatient medical and dental clinics, clinical research, quality improvement, customer service, clinical collaborations with outside entities, the AHF’s HIV Fellowship program, professional development and continuing education for providers and clinical staff.
