Dr. Michael Wait is a ABTS-certified cardiothoracic surgeon in Cedar Hill, TX ; retired after a 32 year career as Professor in the Department of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, & was affiliated with William P. Clements, Jr. University Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas Children's Medical Center, and the North Texas Veterans Affiliated Medical Center; he was the Surgical Director of Lung Transplantation and initiated the CTEPH surgical program. He was the Chief of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital since 1997 until his retirement in 2024. He received his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, followed by 9 years of residency training in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and CVTS . He specializes in adult cardiac surgery, cardiopulmonary transplantation, and vascular surgery. He is now an independent contractor for heart & lung organ procurement at MAWAITMD ORGAN PROCUREMENT.
