- Dr. Michael Teitell is Director of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and President of the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, a 501c3 charity. He is Associate Dean of Cancer Research and Care at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Teitell is a Los Angeles-based, triple-boarded pathologist specializing in anatomic, clinical, and pediatric pathology. He completed his medical education at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by residency training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the University of California, San Francisco, and a fellowship in Pediatric Pathology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed research publications covering topics such as mitochondrial metabolism, function and mutations, stem cell development and metabolism, cancer biology, technologies in mitochondrial transfer and micromirror arrays, and cellular mechanics. Dr. Teitell is recognized for his contributions to the field, including being elected as a member of The American Society for Clinical Investigation and The Association of American Physicians, and being listed in Marquis Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
