- Dr. Tamimi is a board-certified specialist in Neurology and Headache Medicine. He completed medical school at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and his neurology residency and headache medicine fellowship at NYU Langone Health, where he served as Administrative and Recruitment Chief Resident in his final year of training.
Dr. Tamimi also maintains academic positions as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at SUNY-Downstate and as adjunct faculty in the Department of Primary Care at Touro University.
Dr. Tamimi has a particular interest in healthcare equity in NYC as it pertains to neurological care. He is currently leading an initiative to establish a headache center at the OBH Neuroscience Institute, where he treats patients with classic and atypical headache disorders such as migraine, cluster headaches, tension headaches, and more. In managing patients, Dr. Tamimi utilizes a combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods as well as therapeutic procedures, including Botox, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections.
