Summary

  • I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. In my office, I treat adults, adolescents, couples and families using a broad variety of methods and techniques, and, most importantly, an empathic and non-judgmental approach. My practice is collaborative, person-centered and holistic. Working with you, I will provide psychotherapy and, when appropriate, medical management, I will take the time and strive with you to develop a plan tailored to your individual needs and wishes and to provide the best solution and the best result.
Psychiatry is both a science and an art. In addition to my practice, I am Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Joint Professor of Humanities in Medicine at Texas A&M. I have published numerous books, chapters and papers. I am additionally Founding Editor of the Journal "Philosophy, Ethics and Humanities in Medicine," Associate Editor of "Philosophy, Psychiatry & Psychology" and Founding President of the Association for the Advancement of Philosophy and Psychiatry. Since 2019, I am a member of the National Advisory Council of the Hogg Foundation. I look forward to meeting you and to working with you!
