Summary
- Clinically trained and board certified in both adult and pediatric rheumatology, I obtained postdoctoral training in advanced genetic and genomic techniques in the laboratory of Dan Kastner. I now lead a translational research group that, by employing contemporary genetics, genomics and bioinformatics approaches, seeks to identify the underpinnings of both Mendelian and genetically-complex forms of autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases. At this time, the primary focus of my group is investigating systemic arthritis, a rare, severe, and poorly understood condition that may affect people of all ages. When present in children it is called systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, whereas when present in adults it is called Adult-onset Still's disease.
