He practices at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville. He attended medical school at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Arizona where he was awarded the Outstanding Resident Research Award in 2008. He went on to complete his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University with expert training in interventional cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Hainstock joined the University of Virginia in 2012 where he has provided specialized care in the cardiac catheterization lab in addition to general pediatric cardiology inpatient and outpatient services. Dr. Hainstock lives with his wife, who is also a pediatrician at UVA. He enjoys hiking, camping, climbing, language learning, travel and reading.
