Summary
- Stanford trained in Ob-Gyn, Dr. Goodman was a pioneer of Family-Centered Maternity Care and operative laparoscopy. Credentialed as an Advanced Operative Laparoscopist, he has lectured extensively and contributed to the peer-reviewed literature on the subject.
Beginning in the 1990s, Dr. Goodman developed an interest in integrative, menopausal and sexual medicine, as well as female genital plastic and cosmetic surgery. He has been a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health for > 10 years. His present practice in Sacramento, California specializes in difficult cosmetic gynecology issues, including primary and revisional female genital cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, including post-iatrogenic pain and psychosexual issues He has been an invited guest at numerous seminars on these subjects, and is a peer reviewer for several medical journals. He is well- published in the area of female genital plastic/cosmetic surgery and is the Editor and major chapter contributor of the new medical textbook from Wiley-Blackwell, “Female Genital Plastic/Cosmetic Surgery.” Dr. Goodman is well-experienced in Menopausal and Sexual Medicine, although his present (part-time) practice is limited to "Genital Plastics.". Dr. Goodman teaches other surgeons the fine points of genital plastic surgery; his “Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty Training Institute of America” has trained > 100 surgeons from 20 U.S. states and 4 continents
Dr. G is the proud father of 4 children, enjoying exercising, gardening, travelling, educating, music and writing. He is author of 2 popular books on menopause (“The Midlife Bible, A Woman’s Survival Guide,” and “MEN-opause: The Book for MEN”) and 1 on genital plastics (“You Want to Do WHAT? WHERE?? All You Wanted to Know About Genital Plastic/Cosmetic Surgery," in addition to his Textbook, several textbook chapters, and > 10 contributions to the first-line medical literature. He lectures frequently internationally.
