Summary

  • Dr. Michael Fitzgibbons is a physician based in Santa Ana, California specializing in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. In 1972 he graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA degree in Bacteriology and Immunology. In 1976 he graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease respectively at the University of California, Irvine from 1976-1981. He is Board Certified in IM and ID. He was a Clinical Lecturer at U.C. Irvine from1982-2005. He was Chief of Staff, 2003-4, at Western Medical Center, Santa Ana, Ca., now Orange County Global. In 2005 when he complained about Integrated Health Care Holdings’ (IHHI) hospital loan default, he was sued by IHHI for defamation. He successfully had their lawsuit ruled a SLAPP and dismissed by the Court of Appeal. Thereupon in 2006 IHHI’s CEO paid a thug to retaliate and plant a gun and drugs in Dr. Fitz’ car and falsely report road rage. Dr. Fitz was arrested at the hospital June 28, 2006, based on the false police report. He was released and the charges dismissed. In 2008 Dr Fitz sued IHHI. IHHI’s President testified IHHI’s CEO paid to frame Dr. Fitz. In 2012 the jury awarded Dr. Fitz $5.7 million (Fitzgibbons v. IHHI). Judge Gregory Lewis overturned the jury’s verdict 30 days later. Dr. Fitz again appealed to the Court of Appeal and they re-instated the jury’s verdict with interest in 2015. (Judge Lewis was sanctioned by the Commission on Judicial Performance for his ruling in Fitzgibbons’ case and retired.) Dr. Fitz practices infectious diseases and internal medicine in Orange County California. He has treated HIV patients, some over 30 years, through the HIV pandemic. From 2020-present, he treated 1000+ patients for Wuhan Covid 19. In 2022 Drs. Couris and Fitzgibbons sued the State to repeal AB 2098 re Covid misinformation. (Repealed 2023, see hlli.org) Dr. Fitz has a special interest in wellness and his family.
