Summary

  • I am a graduate of the University of Florida, where I earned dual undergraduate degrees in both Integrative Biology and Business Management. I attended medical school at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, NY. While in medical school, I earned multiple awards for my commitment to the elimination of healthcare disparities, outstanding academic achievement, leadership activities and community involvement.

    I then completed my internal medicine residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. While in residency, I received numerous Resident Teaching Awards as well as the Dr. Arnold L. Widen Award for dedication to community service. I completed my fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. I have multiple publications in scientific journals and I was awarded the AGA Certificate of Recognition for Scientific Accomplishment as an Early Career Investigator.

    I have a special interest in esophageal disease, motility disorders and inflammatory bowel disease. I am a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

    I am fluent in both English and Spanish.
