- Melvin I. Roat, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist practicing comprehensive ophthalmology and sub-specializing in the cornea. After many years of running his own practice (next door to Jahnle Eye Associates at Riddle Hospital), he joined Jahnle Eye Associates in 2024. He evaluates and treats patients with dry eye, allergies, glaucoma, diabetes, and age-related eye diseases. Dr. Roat was on the teaching staff of Wills Eye Hospital and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College for almost 25 years, where he was actively involved in training medical students, ophthalmology residents, and corneal surgery fellows.
