- --Certified in Functional Medicine (in 2021) through Institute for Functional Medicine, ifm.org. Exploring root causes of chronic diseases and addressing them through diet, lifestyle, and nutritional support, with special interest in chronic eye diseases.
--Comprehensive ophthalmologist and public health activist, moved to Portland, Oregon in 2017 after spending 7 years in China assisting the development of rural eye care in several provinces. Prior to moving to China, on the faculty of Northwestern University Department of Ophthalmology for 23 years.

--Leadership training workshops for WHO’s Good Governance in Medicines (GGM) Programme in Amman, Jordan and Geneva, Switzerland as well as workshops for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).
