- Dr. Matthew Skoblar is a double board certified interventional pain management physician and anesthesiologist. He completed his residency training at Geisinger Medical Center and received his fellowship training at the University of California Davis. He specializes in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of spine, joint, and nerve pain.
Dr. Skoblar prioritizes patient care using a thorough examinations with an emphasis on creating personalized and unique treatment plans. His evidence based, cutting edge techniques help patients to avoid major surgery and opioid dependence while increasing quality of life. He strives for compassionate care and thorough patient education.
While at Geisinger Medical Center, he served as the lead neuromodulation specialist for chronic nerve pain and performed the most dorsal root ganglion, spinal cord stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation procedures during his tenure with the pain department. He also created a hip and knee radiofrequency ablation program and worked closely with the orthopedic surgery department to treat patients who were ineligible for surgery. Dr. Skoblar also enjoyed a collaborative relationship with the spine surgeons in his system. He often operated together with his surgical colleagues performing sacroiliac fusion and spinal stimulation implants. In addition, he served as the pain department representative to the multidisciplinary spine committee.
Dr. Skoblar recently joined the Jasper Spine Institute to also offer patients the latest in minimally invasive spine care for spinal stenosis, compression fractures, sacroiliac joint pain, and endoscopic herniated disk removal.
