Matthew Schefft, DO, is a pediatric hospitalist based in Richmond, VA. He earned his medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010, followed by a pediatrics residency and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. He also holds an MSHA in Healthcare Administration from the same institution and a BA in Molecular Biology from Kenyon College. Dr. Schefft has published several papers on quality improvement in the inpatient setting, medical overuse, and patient safety. He was recognized as a Choosing Wisely Champion by the American Society of Hematology in 2017. He was an APA Quality, Safety, and Improvement Science Scholar.
