Dr. Caid is a native Michigander, who grew up in the Plymouth-Canton area. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2008 with bachelor’s degrees in both human biology and psychology. During that time he also obtained certification as an EMT. He then worked at a local hospital as an operating room technician for the orthopedics service. This experience ignited his passion for the field of orthopedics. After two years of assisting in surgery, he left Michigan for medical school in the Windy City.
In Chicago, Dr. Caid attended Midwestern University - Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Beaumont-Farmington Hills/Dearborn. In his final year as chief resident, Dr. Caid honed his interest in joint reconstruction and therefore pursued subspecialty training. He was accepted into the prestigious Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. During his time there, he trained under world-renowned orthopedic surgeons and researchers. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in Manhattan, Dr. Caid volunteered to be reassigned outside of his specialty. He worked in the ICU, caring for critically ill patients with COVID-19.
After all of his training, Dr. Caid finally made his way back home to Metro Detroit where he plans to set down roots. He feels very privileged and excited to provide care for his hometown community.
