- Dr. Mary Scovazzo is a retired orthopedic surgeon in Richland, WA and was affiliated with Kadlec Regional Medical Center/Providence. She received her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed her orthopedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. Next was sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Inglewood, CA. Returned to Pittsburgh and joined a private practice (Orthopedic Surgical Associates) from 1988-2002. Clinical Assistant Professor UPMC, supervised orthopedic residents in the OR at Saint Margaret Memorial Hospital & instructed family practice residents during clinic hours. Due to the medical malpractice insurance crisis in the early 2000s (CAT fund with excess premiums levied on surgeons) she bravely voted with her feet and uprooted her family and left the state of Pennsylvania. In Washington State she joined Northwest Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in 2002 and practiced until 2020. Currently (volunteer) Clinical Assistant Professor at Washington State University Elson Floyd Medical School, where she very much enjoys interacting with medical students.
