- Dr. Mary Newport practiced neonatology for 30 years in Tampa Bay area of Florida, then hospice for three years. She received degrees from Xavier University and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and trained at Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati and Medical University Hospital, Charleston, SC. She was caregiver for her husband Steve Newport who had early-onset Alzheimer's disease for 15 years. She has written four books and is an international speaker on ketones as an alternative fuel for the brain and Alzheimer's prevention through changes in diet and other lifestyle risk factors.
