Summary
- I began my career as a general Neurologist, over the years I developed an interest in intraoperative clinical neurophysiology (Intraoperative Monitoring). I personally also did thousands of electro diagnostic studies in my office (Brain Mapping, EEGs, and EMG and NCVs), . Initially I just monitored scoliosis cases then was asked to monitor more and more varied cases, including brain mapping, facial nerve monitoring, brachial plexus monitoring, and intraoperative nerve grafting studies. I attended courses at Louisville, Kentucky, The Mayo Clinic, and Rochester, New York, as well as many other Neurology specialty society conferences to improve our skills. We beta tested and helped develop the portable Nicolette Endeavor IOM equipment including many versions of remote monitoring software. At my company TCN, LP we developed a well respected team of certified electro diagnostic technologists (CNIM) and worked at hospitals throughout the Dallas /Fort Worth area, where I had the privilege to work with some of the best surgeons in the country. We did thousands of complex cases utilizing remote monitoring, and were among the first groups in Dallas Fort Worth to do Intraoperative Trans cranial Motor Evoked Potentials. Unfortunately secondary to my own personal medical issues (ironically primarily a failed back) I had to retire prematurely in May of 2010. I find it interesting to use LinkedIn to follow the careers of the people I used to work with as well as other people I know or have met since I retired in 2010.
